PURPOSE

The re-entry program focuses on attitudes, skills, talents, and abilities needed to satisfy the demands of employers and to promote economic growth,, productivity, and job satisfaction.  We help to change your mind set and to enable you to be aware of how to achieve self improvement.

EXPUNGEMENTS

The San Diego Urban League is also helping women and men with their Expungement Process. The process occurs after participants have been dismissed from parole or probation and have stayed free from police contact over a period of time.

Employers:

The Women’s Prison Re-entry Program is an employment connections program that provides soft skills training using Pacific Institute Curriculum and matches clients to possible job opportunities.  In 2010, after receiving hundreds of female clients who have experienced the criminal justice system, we noticed that they had some specific needs that were not being met in our community.  There were several agencies that provided one or two wrap-around social services, but not one that used a one-stop-shop or holistic model.  With the ever increasing number of females now being incarcerated in the area, and some with veteran backgrounds, our agency decided to focuses on the needs of women while providing support, both inside and outside of correctional facilities.

There are ways to earn Federal Tax Credits for your company by hiring a felon. Contact Jackie Reed at 619.266.6263 or email jackie.reed@sdul.org or moseandme@yahoo.com
